Message board rules

Welcome, the Hampton Roads Gardening Message Boards are a place where people can engage in stimulating conversation on a variety of topics. To create a civil online community, please observe the following rules:

Respect your fellow users. When you disagree with another user, attack the idea, not the person.

Keep your posts clean. Do not use obscenities and vulgarities. Profane usernames are not permitted.

Register with your real name and e-mail address. By providing your real name, you take full responsibility for what you say in the discussions. Only registered users can access this information. If you are not comfortable revealing your e-mail address, you may delete it from your personal profile (Found in the Customize area).

Don't impersonate others.

Stay on topic. If you would like to discuss another subject, please look to see if the topic already exists or start a new one.

Don't post advertisements or solicitations.

Hampton Roads Gardening reserves the right to remove any messages that are posted to the forums, and to remove any problematic users from our registration lists. In the event that a message is removed, we will attempt to alert the writer of the message and why we deleted it.

If you notice content that you think violates these rules, please send e-mail to dselder@tribune.com.

We can't screen these discussions constantly, and we make no guarantees that we'll catch every violation that appears. That's why we ask your help in keeping this area fun, comfortable and safe.
